Why it exists#

Halloween Bot brings a seasonal event to Discord servers every October, and is now in more than 1,800 servers.

What it does#

  • Countdowns that build up to Halloween
  • Trick-or-treating: members collect virtual candy and prizes
  • Monster hunts: co-op events against spooky creatures
  • Candy heists: competitive candy stealing
  • Pumpkin patch: grow, look after and harvest pumpkins
  • Event notifications so nobody misses the next event

It also has a web dashboard for server settings.

How it's built#

The website and dashboard are Next.js, and the backend is Go with PostgreSQL.
