Why it exists#
Tox Mod was an open-source Discord moderation bot "with a little bit of attitude", built in 2021.
What it did#
- Auto-moderation and anti-raid protection
- Welcome and leave messages
- Ranks and reputation
- A web dashboard for configuring it all
How it was built#
A Node.js bot on Discord.js with MongoDB through Mongoose. The dashboard was server-rendered with Express and EJS, and a separate Fastify API served the bot and website. It was self-hostable, with a docs site walking people through setting up both the bot and the web server.
